Abstract

From the past years until today, there have been various media that, according to scholars, they are a role in our lives is undenia .Cinema is one of these media as one of the strategic tools under the influence of the cultural, social, and psychological context of society.The movie is not only a reflection of social structures but also plays a role in its reproduction. Representation is one of the fundamental concepts in media studies through which the media show events and social realities. Since the movie is considered one of the fields of image formation in the field of architecture and urban planning, the need to pay attention to time, place, space, and understanding of each in cinematic works makes cinema dependent on architecture and landscaping, so the present research aims to compare representation of Milad Tower and Azadi from the perspective of sociology in the cinema works of the 80s and 90s was performed using the method of content analysis. For this study, 8 films out of 15 films were selected and the reflection of the social meanings of the images in people's minds was compared. The researched findings show that the media can create an imaginary schema or a stereotype, so that the young people who are looking for modernity and liberation, as well as the affluent class, the less veiled girls of the society, are always seen next to the Milad tower, but the middle-aged, religious and The positive role is seen more next to the Azadi Tower, which is the production of the media.
