Abstract

This study, using Julia Kristeva's theory of abjection and employing thematic analysis, explores and uncovers the hidden meanings and themes in the works of female poets from Lorestan between 1980 and 2020, examining the evolution of their poetry. To achieve this, fourteen poetry collections by seven Lorestanian female poets were purposefully selected for analysis. Most of the works focus on romantic themes and unspoken personal experiences with an individualistic approach to the "I," and in the works of some poets, an independent self, the semiotic, and subjectivity are absent. However, in the process of literary evolution, some poets have transcended the realm of individuality and personal love, moving toward critical thinking and the critique of socio-cultural structures. With their poems oriented toward political, cultural, and social values, the poets have managed to expand the boundaries of subjectivity by conceptualizing and abjecting the current state. This has turned poetry, through its language and conceptual groundwork, into a tool of resistance against the symbolic patriarchal system and a critique of societal conditions. In this journey, the poets seek to purify their minds from impurities, striving to distance themselves from the decay of identity and the collapse of human values while engaging in a continuous battle against individual and social pollution. Therefore, it can be said that this transformation in women's subjectivity has strengthened their role as influential agents in society.
