These groups have worried parents and also challenged formal cultural values and organizations. The young age of the singers and musicians, the critical and explicit content of such music, the challenge to the moral codes of the society, and access to new ICT’s including the Internet, have all turned this music into a basic element of youth culture in Iran. However, there is a significant difference between their notions of "underground” and the global/ Western meaning of the concept. They have a paradoxical tendency to both “be” and “not be” underground. On the one hand the producers of this music prefer to remain “underground”, and on the other they need to attain formal authorization from governmental cultural bodies in order to attract more audiences. This paper aims to study the development of Iranian underground music as a global-local phenomenon and explain its meaning for Iranian youth. After depicting the social and cultural situations that lead to the creation and development of underground music in Iran, this paper will focus on famous underground rap and rock groups.}, keywords = {Alternative music,globalization.,hip hop,Popular music,Rap,rock,Underground music,youth culture}, title_fa = {موسیقی زیرزمینی در ایران}, abstract_fa = {سال‌های اخیر شاهد رشد انفجاری گروه‌های موسیقی زیرزمینی در ایران بوده است. این گروه‌ها از سویی نگرانی والدین را سبب شده و از دیگر سو مسئولان فرهنگی کشور را به تکاپو واداشته‌اند. پایین بودن سن، محتوای صریح و انتقادی و گه‌گاه معارض با ارزش‌ها و کدهای اخلاقی جامعه، دسترسی به فناوری‌های نوین تولید و نشر جدید و از جمله اینترنت و تولیدات موسیقایی این گروه‌ها بسیار زود این موسیقی را تبدیل به زبان نسل جوان و یکی از عناصر فرهنگ جوانان در ایران تبدیل کرده است. با این حال، مفهوم «زیرزمینی بودن» نزد این گروه‌ها با مفهوم جهانی آن اندکی متفاوت است. زیرا، تولیدکنندگان این موسیقی از سویی به سبب مخالفت با ارزش‌های فرهنگی و موسیقایی حاکم، تمایل به زیرزمینی بودن دارند و از دیگر سو، در پی دستیابی به مخاطبان بیشتر، متمایل به «روزمینی بودن». مقاله حاضر درپی آن است که پدیده رشد گروه‌های زیرزمینی موسیقی در ایران را به مثابه پدیده‌ای جهانی – محلی بررسی کند و تعامل جوانان ایرانی را با آن روشن سازد. این مقاله پس از بررسی شرایط اجتماعی شکل‌گیری و رشد گروه‌های زیرزمینی موسیقی در ایران، از میان گروه‌های زیرزمینی بر گروه‌های راک و رپ که شهرت بیشتری از دیگر گروه‌های زیرزمینی به‌دست آورده‌اند، متمرکز خواهد شد}, keywords_fa = {جهانی‌شدن,راک,رپ,فرهنگ جوانی,موسیقی جایگزین (آلترنیتیو),موسیقی زیرزمینی,موسیقی مردم‌پسند,هیپ‌هاپ.}, url = {https://jsal.ut.ac.ir/article_20730.html}, eprint = {https://jsal.ut.ac.ir/article_20730_6efc69210d8d05a232c5a8963195d20f.pdf} }
